Choir and Brass Quintet

KÓJAK: Ólavur Olsen, Kenneth Jones (trompet), Katrin Jørgensen (horn), Jens Knudsen (trombon), Atli Petersen (tuba)

Tórshavnar Kamarkór: Bernharður Wilkinson (dirigentur)

Tórshavnar Kamarkór was established in 1985 and consists of 32 singers aged 25-55 years. The choir is very active and has at least two large concerts per. year, as well as a few small concerts around the islands. The repertoire ranges widely, from demanding choral works by, for example, Bach to newly written works by many Faroese composers.

In recent years, the choir has been on many trips abroad, participated in choral conventions and participated in competitions and other cultural events. The choir has visited places such as Uppsala, Schleswig, Reykjavik, Gotland, Paris and New York.

Conductor is Bernharður Wilkinson, who is also conductor of the Faroese Symphony Orchestra, Føroya Symfoniorkestur. Bernharður has been a choir singer at Westminster Abbey and is a trained flutist and conductor.

KÓJAK is a traditional brass quintet whose members all live in the Faroe Islands. The group has been playing together for six years. The quintet plays for all kinds of events – from entertainment music to football matches to weddings, and the repertoire is therefore extremely wide. KÓJAK also has concerts with traditional brass quintet music.
