BÓKADAGAR 2026: Family Event

Do you know Rabbagassin? He can hear and see everything. And that he doesn’t like it when children misbehave.
In the story about Rabagassin, we follow Lisa, who doesn’t want to get dressed. She gets angry, slams the door and sits down on the doorstep. But before she knows it, a gigantic hand lifts her into the air. It is Rabbagassin, who, in his own way, wants to teach her to get dressed.
At this event, author Rakul Ró Steintórsdóttir will read the story aloud to the children, followed by some lovely songs. The story of Rabbagassin is based on the many stories the author’s mother used to make up and tell when she was a child. It was her favourite story, and now it is coming to life in its own book.
The book is written and illustrated by author and visual artist Rakul Ró Steintórsdóttir. It is aimed primarily at preschool children, but is also suitable for younger schoolchildren aged 4–8. Rabbagassin is her third book. She made her debut at the age of 20 with Sólja og súla á sólferð (2023), followed the next year by Rógvi og náttarravnur (2024). She has written and illustrated all three books herself.
The book is published by Innskot, the publishing house founded by Steintór Rasmussen, which has also published children’s books including Søgunámið, Sangskrínið, Tvøri og Tvassa and Mín gløggi vinur.
