BÓKADAGAR 2026: Authors with New Books Read Aloud

Vivian Sjóðklett reads from the book Djúpt inni í skóginum – Finnast fjølbroytt loyndarmál.
About the book Djúpt inni í skóginum – Finnast fjølbroytt loyndarmál is written for adults to read together with children about the body, growth, thoughts, feelings, boundaries, love, gender and sexuality. It contains seven children’s stories that offer insight into the child’s world and open up conversations about things that can be difficult to put into words. It helps children develop a greater understanding of their own bodies, boundaries and will.
Music Release The book is accompanied by a music release. Edvard Nyholm Debes and Vivian Sjóðklett composed the music, and Uni Debes produced it. Children from the after-school programme at Fløtum perform the song Hvussu bleiv eg til? together with Malan Eyðunsdóttir and Dánjal Gomez. The book and music are published by Tutl and Hit Forlag.
About the Author Vivian Sjóðklett (born 1975) published her first children’s book Ýr in 2000. She is a trained pedagogue, an art therapist whose work is based on C. G. Jung’s theories, and a sexologist. With many years of experience working with children and families, she uses stories and creative activities to meet children where they are.
The book grew out of a desire to make it easier to initiate the conversations that children and adults need to have.
The Authors’ Quarter is a series of reading events where members of the Faroese Writers’ Association, Rithøvundafelag Føroya, who have new books out, read from their recently published works.
