Church of Húsar
This beautiful and noble church was consecrated in 1920
For centuries, Húsar has been home to various churches, but the current one stands at a different location than its predecessor. The first church, located north of Gjógvaraá, was carried out to sea in the 1770s when the river overflowed. The present church of Húsar was consecrated in 1920 and is distinct from other churches constructed during the same period.
It is believed that the church's construction drained the church funds of the Northern Islands parish and also had an impact on church funds across the country due to its high cost.
