Faer Isles Distillery

  • Our guided tours of the distillery always start and end in our visitor centre, which includes our well-equipped bar, which offers 50+ single malt whiskies along with other quality spirits and beers. So, it is well worth a stop—either after the completion of a tour or on its own.

  • The warehouses are built as traditional Faroese “opnahjallur” food drying houses, which have been used for centuries on the islands to cure food using the strong, salty North Atlantic wind, creating a whisky with maximum influence from the Ocean. 60-80% of the flavour in whisky comes from maturation, yet very little difference exists between how whiskies are casked. The unique and different maturation has drawn much international attention to the project.

Located on the remote, windswept Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, Faer Isles Distillery is one of the most northerly distilleries in the world.

We offer guided tours of the distillery, including tasting of our products.

Our guided tours of the distillery always start and end in our visitor centre, including our well-equipped bar, which offers 50+ single malt whiskies and other quality spirits and beers. So, it is well worth a stop—either after the completion of a tour or on its own.

The bar does not have regular opening hours but is open with tours and events announced on our social media pages.

We also have an outdoor area used when the weather permits.
