Welcome to my neighbourhood, where I have lived all my life with my grandparents

My name is Lilja Víká, and I live at Áargarður in Leirvík. You are welcome to come and enjoy my cosy home.

On the way to my house, you will pass the Memorial Monument, which has been erected in remembrance of Faroese men who were lost at sea. On the street leading to the monument, you will find my "Heimablídni". This is my neighbourhood, where I have lived all my life with my grandparents. When they passed away, the house became MY HOME. I have always loved this place, and although it has been rebuilt and is now larger, its spirit and atmosphere have remained the same as in the old days. It holds many good memories and warm feelings from my childhood like neighbours and friends stopping by for a short visit and enjoying coffee or tea with my grandma's traditional sand cake.
I also remember the marvellous twilight hours spent playing table games with my grandma while my grandad listened to the radio. Now, we can all enjoy the beautiful views over the sea and breathtaking sunsets. This peace and harmony are indescribable, and I invite you to my heimablídni. If you decide to visit, you will see our Faroese flag waving in the fresh wind.
