Step into old Klaksvík and discover everyday life in times gone by

Step into a piece of Klaksvík's history at Norðoya Fornminnissavn, the local heritage museum housed in one of the town's oldest buildings. The historic trading houses were originally part of the Danish Royal Trade Monopoly.

Inside, a rich collection of historic objects offers a glimpse into everyday life, trade and work in Klaksvík in times gone by. You can also see Klaksvík's original pharmacy, preserved in the very rooms where it once operated.

The building is also home to Spaniastova, named after the days when salt cod for the Spanish market was processed here.
