Electric Bike Rides - You do not have to sweat, even on steep roads
This Falter E-bike has a 400 Wh electric support engine that can support up to 25km/h, the legal EU limit. This is not an electric vehicle but a bike with support, which makes the ride easier and more comfortable. You do not have to sweat, even on steep roads.
How to rent
You should pick the numbered bike you rented, open the lock, unplug it, turn it on, set the saddle height to your preference, and enjoy the ride.
Just remember to plug the bike in again when returning it. The 5-digit lock should be with you at all times, so when you leave for a hike, you can lock and turn off the bike, and it will still be there when you get back. Northern Escapes will not be responsible for any carelessness or negligence.
Route
We recommend taking the road all the way North to Trollanes first. Make your stops along the way, and hike to Kallur lighthouse and the tombstone of James Bond before riding back to Mikladalur to see the Seal Woman and maybe for a cup of coffee if possible. The Route includes four tunnels. The first one is the longest and most challenging, but after about 5-7 minutes, you will be on the other side. The others are between 3 to 5 minutes and much easier. There can be encounters with cars in the tunnels, but there is room for going to the side or just riding to the passing place/lay-by. There, you can take a breath and feel the inside of the mountain. All tunnels have emergency stations and have light, even though it’s pretty dim. If you feel overwhelmed, you can always turn around and be out again in seconds. Otherwise, there is only one road, so it will be impossible to get lost. Just remember that the roads are narrow, so make room for the cars by going all the way to the side when encountering cars. This will not occur very often.
