Oyggjarvegurin
Oyggjarvegur is a remarkable mountain road
Oyggjarvegur is a remarkable mountain road on Streymoy Island in the Faroe Islands, which used to be the primary route for cars travelling to the capital, Tórshavn. However, it was replaced by the main road and 'Kaldbakstunnel' in 1992. Along Oyggjarvegurin, you'll come across scenic lay-bys, the Norðradalsskarð mountain pass, Mjørkadalur Prison, and Mount Sornfelli. Passing by Hotel Føroyar, located near Tórshavn, offers a picturesque view of the city and Nólsoy island.
