Discover local history inside the old vicarage of Nes

The local heritage museum of Nes Municipality is housed in the old vicarage in Nes, a place with deep roots in Faroese church and cultural history.

The collection includes old books, historical objects and personal belongings connected to prominent Faroese figures. Among the highlights are the writing desk used by priest and national figure Fríðrikur Petersen and the piano of composer Hans Jacob Højgaard.

Nes has been home to a vicarage for centuries and also served as an episcopal seat from 1540.
