On Vágar there is a hostel and camping area, called Giljanes Camping and Giljanes Hostel situated between the villages of Sandavágur and Miðvágur, close to bus stop.

FUEL FOR CAMPING STOVES

Fuel for camping stoves and other camping gear is available at the store Handilsvirkið Niclasen in Sørvágur.

There are no public wildernesses or common areas in the Faroes, camping is only permitted at designated campsites. Hence according to Faroese legislation, it is illegal to sleep in tents in the wild. For more information visit Visit Faroe Islands’ website under camping.
