A good option of getting around on Vágar and the Faroe Islands in general is traveling by public transport. On Vágar buses connect all the villages and during the summer there is a daily ferry connection between the island of Vágar and Mykines. Tickets for the ferry can be purchased on mykines.fo

Helicopter

Atlantic Airways administrates the helicopter service around the islands and has an all year round timetable.

The main purpose of the helicopter is public transport of locals and goods to and from the islands. Mykines is one of these islands. More info about schedule and prices at atlantic.fo

If you book the helicopter one way and the boat the other way, and the boat is canceled, there will be no refund for the helicopter trip. Cancellations for the helicopter must be made at least 24 hours before departure.
